What can you use the app for? is an application that can be used to shorten long URLs. There are a number of reasons that a user would want to use this service. First, shorter URL's are easier to post onto social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. Also, a short link would probably seem safer to most users than a large, multi-line URL. Finally, a short URL is easier for people to remember versus some of the gargantuan web addresses that exist on the cluttered web today. is a free tool for users to access, and they can shorten and share links through the community even if they don't sign up for sign into the service. This is particularly useful for quick link postings. Also, in creating a shortened link, users can be that much surer that those they are targeting won't mistype the web address. This is a good solution for print advertising efforts that reference a web address. Finally, offers an API and a bookmarklet, so users could quickly access this app from their toolbar and instantly shorten apps in a short amount of time. Not much is known about the developers behind the application. The site appears to be relatively new and gaining in website traffic by the day. However, as of April 2012, it is still competing with the more widely known and accepted competition like and TinyURL.
